Never Ending Fashion

After a very long haitus I'm back!!! I'm excited to see that you dropped by the blog. As you know fashion is forever evolving. Styles, trends, designs and designers. However, there is one thing that doesn't appear to be changing much and that is the waste that cheap clothing produces. The Fashion Industry is the second largest contributor of waste among landfills and water next to oil. I know your probably asking how can this be and surely not some of my favorite chic outfits are contributing to this problem? I hate to interrupt your Selfie Pic, Instagram Reel or Tick Tok but it's true. Let me explain to you how this is happening most trendy clothing are created with very cheap materials in excessive amounts by some of your favorite stores such as Zara, H&M etc. They are being produced from synthetic fibers such as nylon, polyester and acrylic which are a type of plastic made from petroleum. And we know that plastic isn't biodegradable. Also, cheap clothing isn't sustainable for one it doesn't last after several washings and then there's the materials that are used. It's really difficult to believe this I know some of you maybe saying because their stylish, inexpensive and everywhere. Your right but would't it be a much better investment for you to buy something of better quality and have it for years than to continuously waste money only to buy perhaps what you need again next season? Only 10% of clothing actually gets recycled if that. The average consumer throws away 70 pounds of clothing per year. 95% of the clothing that is produced actually isn't being recycled or reused in any way. Most stores that create cheap clothing have an excessive amount of leftover inventory from the previous season. Which some will sell it at a discounted rate, minimally send it to a charity or either through it out. I know you are shocked to hear this and so was I. As a entrepreneur in the Fashion Industry I just couldn't sit by and contribute to the problem. As a part of bringing a solution to this ongoing ethical and environmental issue I have decided to partner with other fashion entrepreneurs and organizations where we are collectively reaching out to these brands to see how there can be a redistribution of the clothing to Children, Shelters, Charities, Victims of Fires etc so that they avoid the landfills. But guest what that isn't it? You can help too. Before you decide to put your unused clothing into a charitable bin which by the way most of the clothing never reaches those charities(topic for another blog) or throw them away think about having a yard sale, swap party, offer at consignment boutiques, resale on Depop or Poshmark for cash or learn to be creative with the pieces that you already possess. Fashion really is something that helps us all to show our personality, creativeness, quirkiness, fun, femininty and flirty sense of style. My goal is to promote and create sustainable clothing that can be used from technical, recycled clothing and materials that compose. It's easy to contribute to this ongoing problem, all you have to do is nothing. If you do decide to do something by making even the smallest changes to help decrease the landfill waste you've done a Big part.
This is what you see now when you buy.

This is what you see just after few short trends have past.

Thanks, for making a difference with me My Fashion Friends!!
